Attorney General Eric Holder and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan outlined the $26 billion settlement reached between the federal and state governments and the five largest mortgage servicing companies in the nation. The agreement establishes a set of standards that the mortgage servicers must follow when dealing with homeowners, including protections for those in danger of foreclosure.
