The U.S. Coast Guard and Bureau of Energy Management conducted a joint investigation of the April 20, 2010, Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Witnesses familiar with the events of the accident and company actions prior to and following the accident were questioned by both commission members and lawyers for interested parties.
